Date: July 20th 2007...Venue: outside Ambedkar Auditorium, Technology Tower Ground Floor, VIT University...
Time: 6:30 pm...
The crowd is growing & waiting... Already they are a bit impatient because the venue for the first 'introductory' meeting of the new & so-called THE FINE ARTS CLUB was shifted at the last moment, from a tiny classroom in the Hexagon building to the comparatively mammoth Ambedkar Auditorium on Technology Tower Ground floor... Now why would this club, never heard of before in VIT suddenly change their plans? Even the time of the meeting was changed from 6 pm to 6:30 pm.
6:35 pm; The doors are opened all of a sudden and the crowd starts streaming into the auditorium. The young guy who opened the door from inside seems to have been taken by surprise. Meanwhile, a 'mini-pandemonium' was visible just in front of the podium. A tall guy holding a laptop, a short guy fiddling with some wires, a girl and two other guys in intense discussion, a few people running to & fro in front of the stage etc etc...
6:40 pm; The auditorium is filled at last and almost at the same time, the small group of people in front of the podium seemed to have reached on some mutual agreement that they disperse and take their seats in the front row. One guy with a thin beard remains standing and climbs on to the podium. He adjusts the microphone and begins speaking. The murmering crowd settles as the speaker identifies himself as Vivek Mohan, III B. tech. Biotech.
6:48 pm; After a short speech, Vivek unveils a video presentation. The video chronicles the story of the Drawing & Painting Club right from its birth in 2005 to the present day.
7:00 pm; The crowd watches intently as the video comes to an end saying...
THE FINE ARTS CLUB IS BORN!
